Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) was first introduced in Italy in 1938. Since its inception, ECT has evolved and has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment for a variety of mental health conditions. Despite its efficacy and safety, stigma remains the largest impediment to ECT use. Stigma exists within the general population and can even be found amongst health care professionals. Improved education can lead to better understanding of the applications and effectiveness of ECT. Please join us to learn more.
