1.5 CEUs earned for attendance

The current era of anti-immigration has heightened realistic fears participants have about their ability to stay in the communities where they are raising their children, and is forcing a conversation about what may happen in an age of mass deportation. This unknown future has cast a shadow over the developmental processes of these families, and highlighted the desperation that sent them migrating in the first place. This CE presentation is for beginning to advanced licensed psychologists, MFTs, and LCSWs.

Learning Objectives:
•  Participants will assess client readiness for successfully navigating legal intervention due to immigration concerns, and list order of operations for client to follow to stabilize crisis.

•  Participants will list order of operations for Herman’s tri-phasic trauma-informed assessment during crisis, and list specific methods for completing each step of trauma-informed care.

•  Participants will describe purpose and methods of increasing interception for down-regulating distress to reduce risk of transcrisis, and protect practitioner from Compassion Fatigue.

Schedule:
6PM: Sign-in and Social time
7PM – 8:30PM: Presentation and Discussion
