Letter from the President

Dear RPA Members,

As your 2026 RPA Board President, I wanted to take a moment to share our vision for the exciting year ahead. It is truly an honor to serve as your President, and I am deeply grateful for your continued membership in our organization this year.  RPA is committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative space for all members to participate within our organization.  We hope to see you this year at one of our many events either in-person or over Zoom for our distant members.

In 2026, we will focus on several key initiatives:

Celebration:  RPA turns 50 this year!  Plans are underway for a celebration to honor this milestone for our organization.

Community Building: This year, we plan to expand networking opportunities and facilitate collaborations across disciplines to enhance the exchange of ideas and foster greater professional connections within the Redwood Empire.  We will be hosting monthly events to this end, and we hope to see you soon!

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): We are committed to providing enriching education and professional development opportunities that help our members stay at the forefront of emerging research, therapeutic modalities, and ethical practices.  We plan to expand our CPD offerings this year with multiple consultation groups that meet monthly over Zoom.

Advocacy and Political Awareness:  We are building our advocacy work as an organization.  RPA has a Local Advocacy Network (LAN) Representative who attends Lobby Day in Sacramento and keeps members up-to-date on current pending legislature that affects psychologists.  RPA is additionally growing our relationship with our state and national leaders through meetings with the staff of our elected officials.

Your involvement in RPA is vital to our success. Whether you are a new member or have been with us for years, we encourage you to engage with us in the year ahead – attend events, participate in committees, and consider joining the board in the years to come. Your expertise and passion are invaluable, and together we can continue to build a stronger, more resilient mental health community.

Warmly,
Jennifer Lotz, PsyD
