We wanted to share some thoughts and reflections from those in our community about the recent passing of Nicholas DeMara, Ph.D. He will be missed by all who knew him.
“Nick was a stellar guy. As a colleague, he always went the extra mile for his patients and they loved him. He also was a sweet good friend to all with a twinkle in his eye and love in his heart.” Bless him and his family and friends who will miss him so much.
I got to know Nick first as my supervisor, then a colleague, and not surprising to those that knew of Nick’s health regimen, a fellow gym rat. He would stop me and say hello and we would just chat about how our lives were going. I was always impressed with how fit he was and his steady energy. I loved him and will miss him dearly.
Dear Nick, a gentle, loving soul who gave unceasingly to others. He will be greatly missed.
Nick was so dedicated to his patients that he would “sneak in” on his days off, to see patients while he worked at Kaiser Psychiatry. His patients always felt so held and supported by him and of course his loving talent as a psychologist healed many.
First an Italian professor, then a psychologist, always a sweet, smart and dear man. I will miss him greatly.
Last, some words that described the person Nick was:
Devoted, Warm, Kind, Thoughtful, Sweet, Sparkling Eyes, Bright smile, Always willing to help, Conscientious, A true Bodhisattva
